I’ve just opened the trial of Adobe Premiere CS5 for the first time (which was just recently released).  One thing they’ve bragged on have been the handling of difficult HD formats like that of the Canon 5d Mark II.  I’m absolutely blown away at how it’s handling native HD video from the Canon 5d Mark II.  I feel like I’m back to editing low quality SD footage.  I can put different formats, sizes, placements, opacities, effects, and overlay multiple HD files and it plays like it’s already rendered.  I’m astonished and excited.  This is going to COMPLETELY change how Hoptocopter does things.

I’m used to being able to edit relatively smoothly, but anyone that’s messed very long with the Canon 5d Mark ii editing knows that the format is less than friendly to work with… until now.  Thank you Adobe CS5 for caring about the DSLR film makers of the world (and your own profits of course).
